Mine eyes have seen the Glory of the coming of the Lord
He is trampling out the vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored
He has loosed the fateful lightning of His terrible swift sword

Our God is marching on
As we celebrate the founding of this great country, let us not forget that the very foundation – the rock upon which this society is built – is the Rock of our Salvation, the Word of God, Jesus Christ.
We as a people have enjoyed the privilege of being born under a blanketed covering of the Holy Spirit.
The gifts of the Spirit are love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self control.
Galatians 5:22
For most of the short history of this nation, this country has enjoyed the gifts of the Spirit flowing in our country. We have had our mistakes and disasters, yet we continue to experience the flow of these gifts. For the most part, people here have always been a gentle and kind people, sharing love and provision with the needy, and loving in our families and relationships.
I believe we have grown so use to these gifts that cover us, that we loose sight of what life would be like without them. You do not have to look far outside this country to see what a society without these gifts can entail. Hate, strife and cruelness abounds in most modern societies and prevailed all throughout history. It is because we are endowed with the graciousness of God’s unusual gifts that we have been the grandeur and envy of the world.
Mine eyes have seen the Glory of the coming of the Lord! I for one will forever remember that the great place of honor this country has enjoyed is because of the Holy Spirit’s work because of our Biblical foundation. I will not loose sight of the Holy Spirit covering us and filling us with His gifts. Even as our country seems to be slipping away, I will remain true to the one that fills my soul with love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control.
